"An Expensive Tune" BBC Apologizes

Sunday Times of London

DISCLAIMER:
BBC logo used only to identify adversary

From the Sunday Times of London,
in the "Sue Denham" gossip section:

Chris Byrne, an Irish-American rap artist, has been paid "reasonable" damages by BBC Northern Ireland for using the lyrics of his song Fenians without permission. The Beeb apologised last week to the republican rapper for overlaying the song over images of New York in a Spotlight programme about IRA gunrunning in Florida. The damages may be modest, but the station must also pay part of Byrne's legal costs. An expensive tune.
